Sauvignon Blanc 2009
Windsor Oaks Vineyard, Chalk Hill Peterson Vineyard, Sonoma Valley
875 cases produced
Stainless Tank fermented, bright and crisp Barrel fermented, round and full bodied. Windsor Oaks Vineyard in the Chalk Hill Appellation is on the eastern foothills of the Mayacamus Mountains, opposite the Russian River Valley. The chalky soil and the cooling affects of the river create a terroir that enhances the citrus, herb and floral character in these very flavorful S.B. grapes. We capture this essence by cold tank fermentation. This wine is a perfect match with Crab and a refreshing sip on a warm summers day. The Peterson Vineyard is in Kenwood, on the floor of Sonoma Valley. It is a bit warmer here and the grapes grow thicker skins, creating flavors that are more robust. Cool cave barrel fermentation,
in experienced, neutral tasting, oak barrels accentuates this fuller character while mellowing any aggressiveness in the tannins. The result is a rounder more mouth filling S.B. that is perfect with white meat and pesto pasta.

Gold 2005 Select Late Harvest Botrytis Sauvignon Blanc
Lucas & Lewellen Vineyards Los Alamos Valley
725 cases produced
Nectar of the Gods. Gold is a unique wine. Under rare and ideal conditions Botrytis Cyneria mold grows on the grapes late in the season, engulfing the clusters and concentrating the sugars. We stop the fermentation before the wine becomes dry, retaining natural sugars, and a distinct flavor from the Botrytis. The combination is a unique taste experience unlike anything else in nature. As Gold is poured, your senses are tantalized by its golden hue. The nose fills your head with lush aromas of ripe apricots, dried peaches and tropical flowers. The taste is exotic, sweet but not cloying; it’s like dried apricots over Cream Brulée, rich and sumptuous.

Organic Estate Syrah 2006
Sonoma Valley
A true expression of Terroir - that sense of place
570 cases produced
This Syrah is from the organic vineyard in front of the winery. It is 100% Syrah, which for us is unusual.
The flavor is so generous and delicious by itself it didn’t need any amplification from other varietals.
If you have been less than taken by Syrah in general , do as my Mom used to say, “Try it, you’ll like it”.
Syrah’s flavor profile generally focuses near the bottom of the palate, grounded and earthy. This one is different. It shows generous dark berry flavors in the center of the palate, expanding in all directions in a mouth filling sensation. Alcohol 14.3%, R.S. 0.1%, Aged for 36 months in American and French oak.
