In 1860 Francesco Mosso and his sons Juan Bautista and Antonio immigrated from Italy to Mendoza where they became devoted to viticulture. They produced Turin- style vermouth which made the Mosso name quite famous. In 1909 the brothers Juan Bautista and Antonio established their own winery in Lujan de Cuyo producing Malbec, yet after 82 years of tumultuous economic conditions the winery closed its’ doors. In 2002 Ernesto and Pablo Mosso (the great grandchildren of Juan Bautista and Antonio) revitalized the family tradition and reopened the winery. Using the family’s old vines in Lunlunta they create premium Malbec. These “Famiglia Mosso” wines are boutique, exclusive, limited in production, and truly exceptional.
